Today seems to be going quickly. This morning we finished lesson 1 and 2 in science. They learned about the parts of the flower, and then they were able to label and color their own flower. At the end of the year we will dissect flowers, which is always fun. In our Reading block we worked with word roots and their meanings. Then we put everything with prefixes, suffixes, (our affixes), base words, and word roots together to find the meaning of larger words. The class had fun diagramming compound words on a peek-a-boo design. There were 35 min. given to get pages 10-11 completed in our SS packet. Please check that they are accurate. I emphasized multiple times to have the oceans next to the correct number label. Today will be our last lesson from the book for this week. I have to get in some skills that this series hasn't touched yet.
