What a dreary day! If only we could escape our nightly routines to just curl up on the couch and watch T.V/read a book...... sigh, that would be nice. School has definitely turned into "January" mode. When you walk pass the rooms you can hear all the teachers saying the same common lines, and the kids are tired. Not enough outside play doesn't help the atmosphere. We are trying to keep it fun in our room, but behavior does have a lot to do with how much fun we can have. We have started a new policy: If work time is given and children are not on task, I will take back my time. Which means I will begin another instructional lesson in one of our subjects/or begin something that had to be pushed out of our day due to timing. It is very frustrating to see students sitting here doing nothing or the wrong thing when I am giving up my time for them to work. They should go home to study, and they should work here.
